Lauren’s Infertility Success Story

It can be hard to imagine that your own story of infertility will end successfully, especially when you are in the midst of a long journey towards conception.

That is why we need to hear the stories of those who have gone before us and have overcome the infertility monster.

In the video below Lauren Braxton shares her personal battle with infertility and the steps she took to conceive her second child.

18 months after giving birth to her first baby Lauren says that she and her husband wanted to expand their family. However a year later they still had not conceived and decided to pursue infertility treatments. Despite treatments the Braxtons continued to struggle with infertility for another year.

“After two and half years we didn’t know if this was in the plans for us,” says Lauren. Lauren started to experience severe bloating and abdominal pressure which prompted her to seek professional help.

A visit to an infertility specialist confirmed that a large fibroid had grown in her abdomen and had begun to affect her reproductive system.

As a result the doctors recommended a procedure known as a Myomectomy in order to remove the fibroid. Despite the doctors recommendation Lauren’s husband was hesitant to move forward with the procedure at first. However after attempting to resolve the problem through several other treatments Lauren’s health continued to suffer and eventually they decided to proceed with the surgery.

A Myomectomy is a minimally invasive procedure in which patients typically go home on the same day of the surgery. “The surgery was great, we had a great experience,” says Lauren. “Three months later we found out we were expecting.”

Lauren says that both she and her husband were amazed at the speed at which she conceived and were even a little apprehensive about the pregnancy. However 28 weeks later the couple could relax and enjoy the prospect of adding another member to their family.

Lauren’s positive experience will hopefully inspire you to keep believing in your dream and to do whatever it takes to make it a reality.

Do you suffer with bloating or abdominal pressure? Perhaps you have one of these ovulatory disorders. Visit an infertility clinic near you and get a professional diagnosis.
