HART Fertility Clinic — Where Pioneering Medicine Meets Holistic Care
HART Fertility Clinic is one of Cape Town’s most distinguished fertility centres, located at Cure Day Hospital on the Foreshore. Registered with the Western Cape Health Department and SASREG-accredited, HART brings together three specialist reproductive medicine doctors — including Dr Klaus Wiswedel, a globally respected pioneer of South African fertility care.
Dr Wiswedel was part of the team that achieved the first IVF pregnancy at Groote Schuur Hospital, founded Cape Town’s first private IVF clinic, and pioneered South Africa’s first international egg donation programme. Alongside him, Dr Olufemi Olarogun brings dual public and private sector expertise in reproductive medicine and endoscopic surgery, with experience spanning Groote Schuur Hospital, the UCT Private Hospital, and international practice in New Zealand and Namibia.
More than a medical clinic
HART’s holistic team extends beyond its specialists to include a homeopath, acupuncturist, genetic counsellor, embryologist, social worker, dietitians, a yoga fertility expert, and a legal fertility advisor — because every fertility journey is unique.
Treatments include IVF, ICSI, PICSI, IUI, egg donation, sperm donation, ovulation induction, and fertility preservation. HART welcomes local, international, and LGBTQ+ patients.
