About Cape Fertility

Cape Fertility Clinic | Claremont, Cape Town | Established 1993

For over three decades, Cape Fertility Clinic has been at the forefront of reproductive medicine in South Africa, and for thousands of patients across the country and beyond, it has been the place where hope became reality.

Established in 1993 and situated in Cape Town, Cape Fertility holds the distinction of being the largest IVF clinic in South Africa, operating from purpose-built facilities in the Claremont Medical Village, nestled beneath the Constantia Mountains and close to the iconic Table Mountain. It is a clinic built not only on science and technology, but on genuine compassion, and that combination has made it a trusted name for anyone navigating the deeply personal journey of infertility.

A Team You Can Trust

Cape Fertility’s dedicated team includes five highly qualified Specialists in Reproductive Medicine, eight embryologists, eight IVF co-ordinators, and a clinical psychologist who specialises in infertility treatment — because the clinic has always understood that fertility treatment affects the mind and heart just as much as the body. The five reproductive specialists leading the clinic are Dr Sulaiman Heylen, Dr Paul Le Roux, Dr Tamtam Matebese, Dr Lizle Oosthuizen, and Dr Jo Pottow, each a recognised leader in their field. Critically, every specialist oversees and personally directs their own patients’ care throughout treatment, while also collaborating as a team on complex cases.

World-Class Treatments & Technology

Cape Fertility offers the full spectrum of assisted conception treatments, from initial fertility assessments and ovulation induction through to advanced IVF procedures. The state-of-the-art laboratory is equipped with technologies including the EMBRYOSCOPE™ time-lapse incubator, Laser Assisted Biopsy, a Sperm Class Analyzer CASA System, and ICSI, ensuring optimum conditions for every egg and embryo. Advanced minimally invasive fertility surgery, including operative hysteroscopy and laparoscopy, is also performed on-site. Cape Fertility

Accredited, Recognised & Committed to Excellence

Cape Fertility is SASREG-accredited and recognised by both the University of Cape Town (UCT) as a training unit for Specialists in Reproductive Medicine, and by the Central University of Technology (CUT) as a training unit for Embryologists.
