Androcryos- Andrology Lab and Sperm Bank
Androcryos is South Africa’s longest-established private sperm bank, founded in 1984. Based in Johannesburg, Androcryos offers donor sperm services for recipients, a sperm donor recruitment programme, and a dedicated reproductive tissue transfer service (Androcryos SA) for sperm, oocytes and embryos, moving specimens domestically and internationally with full chain of custody and traceability. Androcryos works alongside treating specialists and fertility clinics, and no referral is needed to start the conversation.
Donor Sperm for Recipients
Androcryos supplies screened donor sperm, delivered directly to your clinic. Beyond its own South African donor list, Androcryos partners with several international donor banks, so if the phenotype or characteristics you are looking for are not available locally, Androcryos sources them, handles the import requirements and coordinates delivery to the fertility clinic or treatment centre you have designated. Every donor is cleared before release: semen analysis, medical and family-history evaluation, infectious-disease screening, genetic and inherited-condition screening, and psychological assessment are all completed at Androcryos, while partner donor banks are screened in accordance with applicable standards.
Services include screened South African donor sperm, international donor bank sourcing, import coordination and documentation, delivery to your designated clinic, exclusive donor allocation on request, sibling samples reserved for later cycles, long-term cryogenic storage, and andrology laboratory services. Call 011 484 2695 for the current donor list.
Become a Sperm Donor
Androcryos recruits sperm donors aged 21 to 35. The process is confidential from the first phone call, and donors are anonymous for life by law — identity and records are managed in accordance with South African requirements, and donors carry no legal or financial responsibility for any child. Screening includes semen analysis and assessment, medical and family-history evaluation, infectious-disease screening, genetic and inherited-condition screening, psychological assessment, and controlled donation and cryostorage.
Donations are by appointment at the Johannesburg laboratory, with weekend appointments available, and the full commitment is explained on the first call. South African law does not permit payment for donation, and Androcryos does not offer it — but donors are never out of pocket, as Androcryos covers all expenses incurred on the programme, including screening and travel. Apply today by calling 011 484 2695 — no obligation.
Reproductive Tissue Transfer
Androcryos SA coordinates domestic and international transfers of sperm, oocytes and embryos, from the releasing facility to the receiving treatment centre, with full chain of custody and traceability. Transfers run on permits, consents and receiving-centre requirements rather than flight schedules, so clients are asked to call before arranging shipment or travel so Androcryos can assess what the transfer actually requires. For irreplaceable specimens, Androcryos arranges bespoke hand-carry, with the shipment collected and personally accompanied through airports, customs and inspection.
This service supports clinics, professionals and patients — whether changing fertility clinics, relocating, continuing treatment in another country, or bringing reproductive tissue into or out of South Africa. Call 011 484 2695 before you ship or travel.
