Meadsie van Zyl is a registered Social Worker in private practice, registered with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP), Mental Health Practitioner and Founder of FertilityMate, with more than 26 years of experience in mental health, psychosocial support and fertility care. Specialising in the psychological assessment of ova donors and intended parents, egg donor screening, donor coordination and emotional support within reproductive medicine, she has worked extensively with donors, intended parents and healthcare professionals across South Africa. Her background includes private practice, corporate wellness, trauma counselling, corporate employee assistance programmes, corporate training, supervision and training of social work students, and child welfare services. Meadsie is registered with the South African Council for Social Service Professions, the Board of Healthcare Funders (BHF) and is affiliated with the South African Society of Reproductive Medicine and Gynaecological Endoscopy (SASREG). She is passionate about ethical fertility care, mental health advocacy and compassionate support throughout the fertility journey.
